The Government has announced additional funding to support low-income and rural households that rely on heating oil

On 16 March 2026, the Government announced over £50 million of additional funding to support low‑income households that rely on heating oil, which has seen substantial price increases due to global market disruption. The announcement confirmed that £27 million of this will be distributed in England via the Crisis and Resilience Fund. This support specifically targets low‑income and rural households most exposed to heating oil price increases.

The Crisis and Resilience Fund will start on 1 April 2026 and will be accessed through Norfolk County Council. Further information on how to access this fund will be published on our website shortly.
