Local Plan Examination
The North Norfolk Local Plan was submitted to the Secretary of State for independent examination on 11 May 2023.
An independent inspector from the Planning Inspectorate is reviewing the Plan and its supporting evidence to decide whether it meets soundness and legal compliance tests.
The inspector will consider the comments made as part of the previous Local Plan consultation and identify any relevant matters and issues to consider as part of the examination.

Public hearings
The Inspector will identify a number of matters and issues which will likely be discussed in more detail at public examination hearing sessions. Those who made representations at the last consultation stage may be invited to participate.
We expect the hearing sessions to take place in autumn 2023 and these will be organised by the Programme Officer.
Programme Officer
Mrs Annette Feeney has been appointed as Programme Officer to organise and administer the examination, including any future public hearing sessions and dealing with all procedural matters. The Programme Officer is independent from North Norfolk District Council and reports to the appointed examination inspector.
