Industrial action starting 13 March 2023

Some staff from our bin collection service provider, Serco, have chosen to strike this week. We are working closely with Serco to help reduce the impact of these strikes as much as possible.

We are bringing in temporary staff from other Serco services to cover gaps. Therefore we currently expect the service to continue mainly as normal, however there may be some minor disruption to your bin collections. We apologise for any service disruption you may experience.

Please put your bin out on the normal collection day, and most bins will be collected as normal.

If my bin has not been collected

If you have not had your bins collected on the scheduled day, the following advice will apply until Monday 20 March 2023.

Green bin (recycling)

Return your bin and put it out again for your next collection date in two weeks. The collection crew will accept any extra recycling, which you can put in clear sacks or cardboard boxes.

Grey bin (refuse)

Leave your bin out in the normal collection point. A collection crew will return for these as soon as possible.

Brown bin (garden waste)

Leave your bin out in the normal collection point. A collection crew will return for these as soon as possible.

Trade waste customers

Leave your bins out in the normal collection point. A crew will complete the collection as soon as possible.

We will keep this page updated with any further information and are sorry for any inconvenience caused during this time.
