Neighbourhood Plan Progress

Corpusty and Saxthorpe Parish Council submitted their emerging Neighbourhood Plan for Pre-submission consultation between 5 June to 17 July 2017. This was the first formal consultation on the Neighbourhood Plan and provided an opportunity for engagement with the public and service providers in order to help shape a robust and effective plan proposal. On 12 June 2018 the Parish Council formally submitted its final Draft Neighbourhood Plan for examination by an independent, appointed inspector.

Submission Version Consultation

In accordance with the Neighbourhood Planning Regulations North Norfolk District Council is now consulting upon the draft Corpusty and Saxthorpe (Submission Version) Neighbourhood Plan.

Comments are invited on the content of the draft plan and in particular as to whether or not the plan proposal fulfils the “basic conditions” - these are the tests that the inspector is required to undertake. Details of this and further guidance can be found on the Governments Neighbourhood Planning Guidance

The consultation commences on Monday 25 June 2018 and ends at 5pm, Monday 6 August 2018. The following documents are available for comment:

How to respond

Those wishing to comment should complete the Consultation Response Form and send to or in writing to Planning Policy Team, North Norfolk District Council, Holt Road, Cromer, Norfolk, NR27 9EN by no later than 5pm Monday 6 August 2018.

Any person making a representation at this stage may also include a request to be notified of the local planning authority’s decision under regulation 19 (to approve the Plan for use). If you wish to be notified please indicate this in the appropriate place on the representations form.

Next Stages

Following the consultation all comments received will be provided to the inspector to consider as part of the examination. If the draft Plan is approved by the Inspector the next stage is to put the plan, incorporating the inspectors recommendations, to a public referendum. If accepted then the draft Neighbourhood Plan must be “made” by the Council within an 8 week period following the referendum. Once made the Neighbourhood Plan will form part of the district-wide planning framework and become a material consideration (must be taken into account) in the consideration of future planning applications in the Neighbourhood Plan Area.

Further information and dates will be published as they become available.

General enquiries should be directed to Corpusty and Saxthorpe Parish Council. Enquiries relating to the current consultation should be directed to or 01263 516318.
