The last revaluation occurred in 2017, and the next one comes into effect on 1 April 2023. Business Rates are worked out using a property’s rateable value, which is based on its open market value. Rateable values are periodically reassessed to ensure that the business rates system remains fair and reflects changes in the property market. The 2023 rating list comes into effect on 1 April 2023, based on property values as of 1 April 2021.
