Submission Version consultation

In accordance with the Neighbourhood Planning Regulations, North Norfolk District Council is consulting on the draft Tunstead with Sco Ruston Neighbourhood Plan Submission Version.

Comments are invited on the content of the draft Plan and, in particular, should address whether or not the plan proposal fulfils the Basic Conditions. These are the tests that an appointed independent examiner will be required to undertake at the next stage before the Plan can progress to the final stage of public referendum. The Neighbourhood Planning page on the Government website has details of this and further guidance.

The consultation starts on Monday 7 September and closes on Monday 19 October 2026.

Responses must be received by no later than Monday 19 October 2026.

Any person making a representation at this stage may also include a request to be notified of North Norfolk District Council’s decision under Regulation 19 (whether or not to approve the Plan for use). If you wish to be notified, please indicate this in the appropriate place on the Consultation Response Form.

Next stages

Following the consultation, all comments received will be provided to the examiner to consider as part of the examination process. If the draft Plan is approved by the examiner, the next stage is to put the Plan, incorporating the examiner’s recommendations, to a public referendum. If accepted, the draft Neighbourhood Plan must be adopted by the Council within 8 weeks following the referendum.

Once adopted, the Neighbourhood Plan will form part of the district-wide planning framework and become a material consideration (must be taken into account) in the consideration of future planning applications in the Tunstead with Sco Ruston Neighbourhood Area.
